Investigation of functional and molecular mechanisms involved in the vascular adjustments occuring in cardiovascular and endocrine-metabolic disturbances.
Dr. Ana Paula Couto Davel - Principal Investigator Our research focuses on pathophysiological mechanisms associated with vascular alterations and therapeutic strategies for cardiometabolic diseases including dyslipidemia, obesity and undernutrition. Specifically, we investigate cell signaling and mediators involved in vascular function; perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT) function and morphology; sexual dimorphism in vascular biology.
